The short version
You can read every article on this site without telling us anything. We have no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for.
Three things you can choose to do send us data: the contact form, the newsletter box, and the wish generator. Each is explained below, including who else receives it and how long it lasts.
Who we are
YourWishZone.com publishes wishes, greetings and messages for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and everyday occasions. In this policy “we” and “us” mean the people who run YourWishZone, and “you” means anyone visiting it.
Questions, or a request to see or delete your data: contact@yourwishzone.com, or the contact form.
What you send us on purpose
The contact form
When you send us a message we receive your name, email address, subject and message. So that we can tell genuine messages from automated ones, the email we receive also notes your IP address and the time you sent it.
That message arrives in an ordinary inbox and stays there until it is no longer useful — in practice, until the conversation is finished and the thread is cleared. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.
The newsletter
If you subscribe we store your email address and the date you subscribed, and nothing else. It is kept in a file on our own server, outside the public part of the website, and it is used for one thing: sending you the newsletter.
We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link; using it removes your address.
The wish generator
This one deserves a plain explanation, because it involves a company outside this site.
When you press Generate, the occasion and tone you picked — and the optional “who is it for” line, if you filled it in — are sent to Groq, a US company that runs the language model writing the wishes. They process it to produce the text and send it back.
So: whatever you type into that box leaves this site. Please do not put anything sensitive in it. It only needs something like “my younger sister” to work — a full name is never required.
We do not store what you typed or what came back. To keep the free service running we cache the generic results — a plain “heartfelt birthday” set, with no recipient attached — for about twelve hours. Anything with a recipient in it is never cached.
What is collected automatically
Like every website, ours sits on a server that keeps standard access logs: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. These come from the hosting itself, are used to keep the site up and to spot abuse, and are not combined with anything else to identify you.
The site is hosted by Hostinger, on servers in Europe. If you are reading from the United States or elsewhere, your request necessarily travels to and is processed in Europe, which has data protection rules at least as strict as your own.
What we do with it
- Reply to you when you write to us.
- Send the newsletter, if you asked for it.
- Generate the wishes you requested.
- Keep the site working, fast and free of abuse.
- Understand in aggregate which articles are worth writing more of.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the specific services named in this policy.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — and we will, free of charge, within a month. Write to contact@yourwishzone.com.
If you are in the UK or the EU, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you those rights plus the right to restrict or object to processing, to portability, and to complain to your data protection authority. Our legal bases are consent (the newsletter), legitimate interests (replying to you, keeping the site secure) and, where advertising is running, consent collected through the banner.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information. If advertising is running on the site, you can opt out of personalized advertising through the consent banner and through the links in the Advertising section below.
We will never treat you differently for exercising any of this.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Articles sometimes link elsewhere. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, under their policy, not ours.
Security
Everything here is served over HTTPS. The newsletter file sits outside the public part of the server and cannot be reached over the web. Keys for the services we use are stored outside the website’s files entirely.
None of that makes anything perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise — which is the main reason we collect as little as we do.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The sections below describing analytics, advertising and cookies are generated from the site’s own configuration, so they update on the same day the software does rather than whenever someone remembers to edit them.
Analytics
We use the following to understand how the site is used:
- Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC — it records which pages are read, how long for, and roughly where in the world readers are. See their privacy policy , or opt out of it entirely .
We look at this in aggregate — which articles are worth keeping, which are not. We do not try to identify individual readers and we have no interest in doing so.
Advertising
YourWishZone currently shows no adverts. When that changes, this section will name the advertising network, explain what its partners collect, and link to the opt-outs before a single advert loads.
Cookies actually in use
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies — aboutcookies.org explains how for each one. Blocking them will not break this site; almost all of it is plain pages that need no cookies at all.
